Tips To Help Organize Your Garage
The weekend has finally arrived; the weather is good, and you have enlisted the aid of your
entire family to help you organize the garage. You and your husband gather the children; open the garage door and are pleasantly
surprised. It’s in pretty good shape; well at least there is one car in there. Here are some quick garage organizing tips which may
come in handy.
* Make sure you have plenty of large boxes, large garbage bags, duct tape and cord on hand.
* Ensure you have all of the hooks and shelves you’ve purchased on hand.
* Take everything out of the garage (including the car)!
* Set up three areas in your driveway where you can place items you’ll keep, item’s you’ll throw away, and items you’ll sell.
* As you remove each item, determine which area it belongs to.
* After you have decided what to keep, place them back into the garage and use the hooks for hanging; and shelves for storing.
* Clean the inside of the garage as much as possible; clearing away debris, dirt and dust.
* For those items you wish to sell, pack them neatly in the boxes and tie them with cord. Mark the box or boxes “For Sale.”
* Put all of the items you are throwing away into the garbage bags. Be sure to double up on the bags, and separate the items according to your
local Sanitation Department’s recycling policies.
* If you have any clothes in the throw-away pile, put them in the garbage bags and call your local Goodwill center or church for pick-up.
* Place the for sale boxes back in the garage off to the side. Prepare to hold a garage sale the following weekend if you can.
Oh, one more item. Put the car back in the garage. Great job!
